Seven Major Chakras

There are seven major chakras placed along the centre of the body and these are what is commonly thought of when referring to “The Chakras”. Each of these major centres is concerned with a certain area of life relating to physical, emotional, mental and spiritual states. Each one governs an aspect of the physical body in association with an endocrine gland, the etheric body via the nervous system in association with a nerve plexus, and the astral body via colour.

Knowing about the chakra functions in-depth bestows a great understanding of an individual’s physical, psychological and spiritual state and is essential in developing personal understanding. A little work goes a long way when working with chakra energies! Each chakra is associated with different colours, ages of development, glands, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, positive and negative qualities, elements, soul issues, gems, minerals, aromatherapy oils and angels.

The 7 major chakras each have:

  • Different frequencies
  • Different colours associated with them
  • Relationships with different emotional and spiritual issues
  • Connections to different, organs, glands and nerves
  • Different ages at which they develop
  • Different types of traumas they store
  • Different governing elements (earth, air, fire and water etc.)
  • Different gems to help balance them
  • Different Angels that work best with them

And will be covered in depth in their own articles.

Below are listed the basic associations of the 7 main chakras

They are multi-dimensional in nature and translate energies, stepping it up or down in frequency or vibrational rate, to be used at the appropriate level. They are considered to be centres of consciousness and each one can rotate in either direction (clockwise - anti-clockwise), or indeed in all directions simultaneously, albeit at different rates.

Animals have chakras too.
