Armed Forces Day is a chance to show our support for the men and women who have and do protect us and our interests at home and abroad, veterans, those currently serving and their families including the cadets who are currently joining.

Showing support for the Armed Forces provides a much valued morale boost for the troops and their families. You can find out more about what they are doing at home and around the world by visiting the official sites of the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

The UK Armed Forces defend the UK and its interests

They are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security and fighting terrorism and get little acknowledgement or thank you from the British people. These extraordinary men and women risk their lives daily mostly unseen by the general populous. The worry that must put their parents, wives and children through is unimaginable to me. Thank goodness my son-in-law is Ex-army.
